Modern Slavery Statement

Man with Van Camden Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Man with Van Camden in respect of its activities and supply chains. It outlines our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our operations, including the procurement of goods and services, subcontracted transport services, and any ancillary activities connected to our removal and relocation services.

Man with Van Camden recognises that modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights. It encompasses slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, debt bondage, and human trafficking. We understand that these abuses can occur in any country and in any sector, and we are committed to identifying, preventing, and addressing any such risks within our business and our supply chains.

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

We operate a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all members of our workforce, including permanent staff, temporary workers, agency staff, contractors, and subcontractors engaged in providing man and van, storage, packing, or associated services on our behalf.

All business decisions must align with this zero-tolerance policy. We do not knowingly work with any organisation that is involved in, or fails to take adequate steps to prevent, modern slavery or human trafficking. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated as a serious misconduct issue and may result in termination of contracts or working relationships.

Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits

Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, packaging and materials suppliers, storage facilities, and subcontracted transport and labour services. We expect all suppliers and partners to share our commitment to eliminating modern slavery and to comply with all applicable labour and human rights legislation.

Before entering into or renewing commercial relationships, we conduct proportionate due diligence on our key suppliers and subcontractors. This may include questioning their labour practices, reviewing any publicly available statements or policies on modern slavery, and assessing the country and sector risk associated with the services or goods provided. Where we identify medium or higher risk, we may undertake more detailed audits or request further documentation to confirm compliance.

We reserve the right to conduct audits, site visits, and interviews with relevant supplier personnel where appropriate. Suppliers that fail to meet our requirements or do not demonstrate a commitment to continual improvement in this area may have their contracts suspended or terminated.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We encourage all employees, workers, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns they may have about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business or supply chain. Concerns may include suspicious working conditions, indications of forced or bonded labour, withholding of identity documents, or any other behaviour that could suggest exploitation.

Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or through existing internal reporting mechanisms. Individuals who raise concerns in good faith will be protected and will not suffer any form of retaliation. We aim to handle all reports promptly, sensitively, and, where possible, confidentially. Each report will be assessed, investigated where appropriate, and followed up with corrective actions or escalation to relevant authorities if required.

Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement

We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks within Man with Van Camden. Relevant teams, including those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management, are informed about the signs of modern slavery and the steps to take if they have concerns. We promote open dialogue so that staff feel supported in asking questions and reporting issues related to labour standards and human rights.

We continually review our processes to strengthen our defences against modern slavery. This includes refining our due diligence processes, improving record-keeping, and enhancing our expectations of suppliers and business partners.

Annual Review and Statement Approval

This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every 12 months to ensure that it remains accurate, effective, and reflective of our current operations and risk profile. As our business grows or changes, we will update our approach to managing modern slavery risks accordingly.

The review will consider feedback from audits, incident reports, staff input, and any changes in legislation or best practice. Any necessary amendments to our policies, procedures, or supplier requirements will be implemented following this review. This statement is approved by the leadership of Man with Van Camden, who take overall responsibility for ensuring that it is implemented and upheld throughout the organisation and our supply chains.
